Life is like a Cup of Tea…

“Life is like a cup of tea, it should be filled to the brim and enjoyed among friends.”

It is no secret that Maura and I are best friends if you follow either of us on Instagram. Now that we are neighbors, we are taking advantage of that and have set aside a weekly time for us to get some fresh air, do our bible journaling together, and catch up over a pot of tea. It is so important to have a time in your week to refresh and have “me time,” and we happen to enjoy our “me time” together!

We started our morning with a walk (well I rolled) all around our beautiful housing community. Having a friend that understands your chronic illnesses are rare, and I am so fortunate to have a couple close friends who understand my struggles. We walked early in the morning so the sun was out, but it was not too hot and there was a nice breeze (aka it was a POTSie approved walk.)

Once we came back, we started boiling water for tea. We just spent time catching up and hearing about each others weekends. Once the water was ready we added in a green and white tea blend- which was lovely. We also used my new china tea set that I got as a wedding gift! Thanks mimi!SE0_3504

During our time we talked about everything from relationships to what we should get on our next target run. We even watching my raw wedding footage! Having time to bond with other strong christian woman is really important to me, so this time together is so special. We always have room to grow and bloom where we are planted, and having someone to walk through that continual process of maturity with you is such a blessing.

I started using the Write the Word journals from Cultivate What Matters about a month ago and they have astronomically enhanced my relationship with Christ. I bought one for Maura for her Birthday and she loves them now too! If you want to know more about the write the word journals head to their website or watch my Instagram story highlight where I explain how I use the journal.

Spending time with God daily is not an easy thing to stay on top of so having an accountability partner is super important. Doing our write the word journals together help us stay accountable to our goals.

When we finished our time with God, we spent time talking about our time with God and how it related to our former conversations that day (as my mom would say, “it’s not a coincidence, it’s a God-incidence.) We got to reflect out loud and gain each others insight into our thoughts. Write the Word journaling is even better with friends!

What do you do with your friends to help keep you accountable? Let me know in the comments!
