The Spoonie Study (spoonie is a term in the chronic illness community and if you would like more details google “the spoon theory) is an online Bible study for women over 16 with chronic illnesses. Living the chronic illness life can be isolating and our goal as a group is to support each other through our challenges. We are all going through life with different chronic and/or progressive illnesses We go through a christian book together over 12 weeks. Each gathering includes about a 90 minute group time where we discuss the chapter we read that week, answer reflective questions, and pray for one another. We commit to reading a chapter of the book each week in preparation for our time together. 

We will be starting a new study on February 27, 2020 at 7 pm EST. The book we will be using for this study will be: “It’s Not Supposed To Be This Way” by Lysa Terkeurst. You will need to buy the book to participate (but you do not need the study guide, just the book). You do not need to read the book in advance as we will all read and discuss each chapter weekly together. You will need to buy the book before the study starts. 

Every week we will meet one night a week through the Zoom platform for an interactive group discussion on that week’s chapter. You must be registered to attend the live portion of the study. These will be virtual face to face meetings. If you are not comfortable doing that, I ask that you use the IGTV videos or read the discussion blogs to do the study. We want that life group feel and at this time we are setting it up as a face to face discussion.

Do not worry if you cannot attend live each week (or at all) because every week there will be a blog post on the discussion (here is an example from last year) and there will be IGTV videos posted to our leaders instagram (@officialcassiemnolin) so you can watch them anytime.
