Woo-hoo š We have made it halfway through 2022! Let’s celebrate all that we have done – and that includes our imperfect progress because our imperfect progress does add up!!
When I set goals for 2022, I felt like I paced myself well and surprisingly enough I still felt that way last refresh. There were a couple goals from Q2 that were too broad and a handful that were far too ambitious for this past season, but those realizations have allowed me to be more focused for this quarter, and that is one victory that I am taking into my Summer Powersheets Refresh. (Donāt know what Refreshes or Powersheets are? Start Here!)
My word of the year is Cultivate and this season my focus is going to be to cultivate diligence and act on the importance of preparation in effort to cultivate an intentional life.
Whether you are looking at your goals and are celebrating all youāve accomplished, and itās time to set new goals; maybe your goals are growing well, but you want to change them up a bit to tailor them to your current season of life; or you might be looking back at your 2022 prep work and feel like in 90 days your life looks entirely different and you want to do redo everything ā no matter where you fall, thatās exactly what this refresh is for!
One last thing⦠before we get started, I want to remind you that here, we wholeheartedly believe that comparison is the thief of joy. Your powersheets and goals are going to look different than mine, just like mine are going to look different than yours. So I just want to remind you, as an honorary PSP gal, that we donāt compare here. If we look at our refresh through the eyes of comparison, we are missing out on the good things that God has prepared for us. So I just want us to remember that going into this conversation.
Prep Work Refresh (pg.103)
My life looks different than it did six months ago, and I would assume yours does too. Having the opportunity to remind myself of what is firing me up in this current season of life is so valuable. The first thing that came to mind for me was confetti, so I had a bit of fun decorating this page! (My sweet sister and love actually put it all together for me because I was strapped on time, so thank you Joanne!)

Here is what is firing me up in this season:
- Celebrating with Confetti
- Powersheets Prep Party Nights with The PSP Gals
- Time with our Wonderful Siblings
- Puppy Kisses
- Fresh Cut Blooms
- Diving Deep into His Word
- Delighting in the Grace + Goals Accountability Collective
- Seeing the Garden Grow
- Face-timing + Calling Family
- Making Imperfect Progress
- Spending Time with Jared
- Sending Snail Mail
- Quiet Mornings in the Sunporch
- Listening to 5SOS, Jonas Brothers, and Taylor Swift
Now, not all of these things that fire me up on this page look āproductiveā on paper, but when we donāt make time for the things that fire us up, we risk burning out.
Sometimes the things that we are called to do, need to do, and enjoy doing donāt ālookā productive. For example, spending time in the garden rather than answering emails does not ālookā productive, but my soul needed it. Living a purposeful life always produces good fruit.
As a recovering perfectionist, I struggle to remember that our goals donāt always have to look productive to produce good fruit. We need to do the things that refresh our souls and that are life giving because those things that give us joy and peace and comfort fill us up so that we can better give more into our goals. Obviously its a balance but if you donāt make time for the things that fire you up you will probably find yourself exhausted rather than energized. So go cuddle your puppy, go on a date, enjoy the sunshine because this things matter too.
My Refreshed Goals
The BEST pro tip I can give you is sticky note this page (105) and do your action plans FIRST (106-107) before filling this out because sometimes your goals change as you work on the action plans.ā

p.s. if you are wondering how I use my color-coding flags you can find out here.
My 2022 Q3 Refreshed Goals:
- Cultivate Diligence: in my marriage, home, personal habits, and in building Grace + Goals.
- Cultivate Sustainability: as the EDS progresses, I will have some gaps where I cannot be active here; so I want to create sustainable ways to keep Grace + Goals and Living the Chronic Illness Life growing when I am out of commission in some seasons.
- Cultivate Consistency: this is a continued goal from my 2022 yearly goals that I want to continue to grow in.
- Cultivate Reliance: I want to deepen my prayer life with the Lord and be reliant daily on that time. Spending time in prayer AND in His Word is vital to my day, and I want my days to rely on that and to crave my quiet time with Him.
- Cultivate Joy while Living the Chronic Illness Life: this is a continued goal from my 2022 yearly goals, and I want to continue to seek out joy and enjoy all that I can still do while moving with confidence that I can do hard things for Him.
- Cultivate Growth: I want to take big leaps of faith this season and intentionally develop deeper relationships with our family this quarter.
Something that we have been talking about a lot this quarter in the G+G Accountability Collective is how we measure success. So because I ended up with 6 goals, with many specific action steps so I don’t make broad goals like I did last refresh, I decided to use the final two spaces to briefly mark the importance of my heart success and numerical success for this quarter. That way when I flip back to my refreshed goal page when I prepare for each month in this quarter I can easily be reminded of how I am weighing my success this season. How someone else views success may be different than mine, but that comparison doesn’t matter. I need to stay focused on how God has called me to view my success and my goals so stay focused and don’t let comparison sneak in!
Here’s a brief overview of this practice I created:
Success isnāt solely defined by checkmarks and physical growth, we can also see success in our ālifestyle and heart growth.ā We often note our success in easily āmeasurable growthā such as through numbers, seeing your house decluttered, and through checkmarks and progress bars. There is also āheart growthā success such as your mindset shifting in the direction you want to go, watching habits develop, and most importantly following where God is leading you in that goal.
